Help a Father Rebuild His Medicine Shop and Provide Food for His 3 Children

My name is Md Rokib Ahmed, and I am a father of three children in Bangladesh. My small medicine shop is almost empty, and it is currently the only source of income for my wife, my children and me.

I am not asking for a permanent solution through donations. I am asking for a chance to rebuild the small business that has supported my family for years.

My Shop Is Nearly Empty

My medicine shop is a small family business. I depend on it to earn money for food, household expenses and my children's needs.

Unfortunately, I can no longer afford to keep enough medicine in stock.

Customers still come to my shop looking for medicines, but many times I have to tell them that I do not have what they need. When there is little medicine on the shelves, there are very few sales. When there are very few sales, I cannot afford to buy more stock.

This has created a difficult cycle.

My current monthly sales are only around BDT 6,000 (approximately €50), while my monthly payments to banks and NGOs are around BDT 50,000 (approximately €400).

I am therefore struggling to maintain the shop while also meeting my family's basic needs.

How Did I Reach This Situation?

My financial difficulties became much worse when both of my parents suffered serious brain strokes.

When they became seriously ill, I borrowed money from banks, NGOs and other sources to help pay for their treatment. I did everything I could because they were my parents, and I could not simply leave them without treatment.

Sadly, I lost both of my parents.

The medical expenses and financial obligations, however, did not disappear.

I am still carrying these financial obligations while trying to support my own family and keep my small shop operating.

A Personal Appeal for Zakat and Sadaqah

I am not only a father struggling to provide for my three children — I am also an orphan who has lost both of my parents.

As an orphan and a father of three children, I am humbly reaching out to my Muslim brothers and sisters who may wish to support my family through Zakat or Sadaqah, according to their own religious guidance and requirements.

I am asking you from my heart: please help me protect my children from hunger and hardship. Please help me rebuild the small medicine shop that is our family's only source of livelihood.

I do not want to depend on donations forever.

I want to work. I want to rebuild my shop. I want to earn enough to provide food and basic necessities for my children through my own income again.

My Three Children

I have three children who depend on me.

The hardest part of this situation is not simply seeing an empty shop. It is the daily worry about whether I can provide enough food and basic necessities for my children.

I want my children to have food, education and a better future.

As a father, it is extremely painful when I cannot provide everything they need.

But I do not want to give up.

I want to continue working.

I want to rebuild my shop, increase my income and gradually become financially independent again.

Why I Am Asking for €10,000

I am raising €10,000 to give my small business and my family a chance to recover.

The funds would be used approximately as follows:

• €4,000 – Medicine stock and working capital
• €3,000 – Urgent bank and NGO loan obligations
• €2,000 – Food and essential household needs
• €1,000 – Shop operating and emergency costs

The first priority is to put essential medicines back on the shelves and restore the shop's ability to generate income.

My long-term goal is to earn my family's living through my own work rather than depending on donations.

Why Even a Small Donation Matters

I am not looking for a life where I depend on donations forever.

I want to work.

I want to put medicine back on my shelves.

I want customers to be able to find the medicines they need at my shop.

I want to increase my income.

Most importantly, I want to be able to provide food and basic necessities for my three children through my own work again.
